Skiing is one of the oldest and most popular winter sports. With a spectrum of fantastic ranges throughout the world we are spoilt for choice when it comes to booking our ski holidays.

1) Insurance is essential for ski trips. Make sure you obtain the appropriate cover, as just a small slip on the slopes can result in a very hefty bill for getting you back down and to a hospital.
2) Go in a group! If you are planning a family get together, why not go skiing? Many resorts offer excellent group packages, with discounts of lift passes and accommodation, so do some research and you may just get a bargain.
3) Missing the slopes? Most European resorts seasons run from October to April, but if you fancy cooling off during the hot summer months then there are still places to ski. Glacier skiing in Norway, the Termas de Chillan in Chile or The Remarkables in New Zealand all offer fantastic skiing from June to October.
4) Gap year? Many ski resorts offer a vast array of employment opportunities to those looking to spend a season on the slope. It can be hard work, working in catered chalets and resorts, but the après-ski and being so close to the slopes (and reduced lift passes) is well worth it.
