Leadville has a number of pubs and bars, as well as interesting museums, shops and historical sites.Ski Cooper is a favourite family resort providing loads of easy runs, professional instructors offering group and private lessons to children and adults alike, childcare facilities, as well as a restaurant, shop, and ski rental and repairs. The nearest lodging is available in historic Leadville, 14.5kms away. Numerous hotels, motels and guesthouses, covering a wide range of prices, can be found in Leadville. Here, you can enjoy historical tours and visit the National Mining Hall of Fame, while there is also a wide selection of restaurants and bars to choose from. Transportation to Ski CooperSki Cooper resort is situated in central Colorado, high up in the Rockies, 206kms southwest of Denver, 216kms northwest of Colorado Springs, and 272kms east of Grand Junction. The easiest form of transportation is to drive from either Denver International Airport or Eagle County Airport.If driving from Denver International Airport, take I-70 west to exit 195 at Copper Mountain. Head south on highway 91 to Leadville, then turn right on to highway 24; Ski Cooper is located 14.5kms up, at the top of Fremont Pass. If driving from Eagle County Airport, take I-70 east to exit 171, and this will put you on highway 24. From Colorado Springs, take highway 24 west all the way to Leadville. Amtrak trains and Greyhound Lines buses go to Denver from around the nation. Amtrak’s California Zephyr line goes from Chicago though Denver to San Francisco. From Denver, you can transfer by car to the resort. The nearest international airport is Denver, which services flights from all major North American destinations as well as direct flights to and from London Heathrow. Car hire is available for the scenic drive to Leadville and Ski Cooper. Alternatively, you can take a connecting flight to Eagle County Airport from where the drive is shorter.
