There are 35 runs in total in Montana Snowbowl, moving through tree-lined and gladed slopes, and connected by four lifts with a combined uplift capacity of 3,400 people per hour. Of the ski runs, 20 per cent are suitable for beginners, 40 per cent are for intermediates, 25 per cent are for advanced skiers and boarders, and 15 per cent are for experts. Paradise, at 4.8kms, is the longest run available at the resort. Snowboarders are also well looked after at Montana Snowbowl, with access to a terrain park and natural half-pipes. Montana Snowbowl’s season runs from late November to early April, with optimal snow conditions in February, and special rates leading up to the festive season. The most convenient means of reaching the resort is by flying to Missoula International Airport and taking a shuttle bus to the resort. A range of inns, hotels and motels are available onsite, including the European-style Gelandesprung Lodge, located at the base of the mountain and boasting a tempting outdoor hot tub. Nearby Missoula provides a host of additional accommodation options, as well as a thriving nightlife for the party-hearty.There is a small but convenient selection of facilities at Montana Snowbowl, including a ski shop, a ski school, and a restaurant/cafeteria. Lodging possibilities at the resort include a variety of inns and motels. Nearby Missoula have far more options in terms of accommodation, dining and particularly nightlife, with theatre, live music, casinos, cinemas and dance clubs to choose from. Nearby Jackson Hot Springs is the ultimate place to relax and ease aching muscles; while the Clark Fork River Valley is a wonderful area to explore on days off from the slopes, with a wealth of scenic landscape presenting endless recreational pursuits. Transportation to Montana SnowbowlMontana Snowbowl ski resort is situated 22kms north of Missoula, and can be reached by means of road transportation, or a combination of air and road transportation. The quickest and easiest way of getting to the resort is to fly to Missoula International Airport and then take a free shuttle bus transfer to Montana Snowbowl.Driving to the resort is also a viable transportation option. If you are coming from the east (Billings and Bozeman) or west (Washington State and Idaho), take I-90 to Missoula, then exit 101 on to Grant Creek road. Continue for six kilometres and finally exit on to Snowbowl road for access to the resort. If you are coming from Salt Lake City, take I-15 through Idaho and join up with I-90 at Butte. The international airport at Missoula is situated close to the centre of town and receives numerous flights from all over the US, as well as from London. A free shuttle service run by Lewis and Clark Trail Adventures provides transportation to Montana Snowbowl. Alternatively, you can hire a car from the airport and reach the resort via I-90, Grant Creek road and Snowbowl road. Greyhound buses travel to Missoula from all over the US, and Rimrock Stages offer bus transportation from other parts of Montana.
