Travel to Big Sky with ski insurance from Essential Travel

Big Sky resort’s Mountain Village lies at the base of towering Lone Peak and offers nearly 500 hotel rooms, suites and condominiums. Here, you’ll also find shops, restaurants, groceries, rental and repair services, a snow sports school, and childcare and conference facilities. Skiing in Big Sky

Après-ski in Big Sky

Mountain Village offers a diverse range of ski-in/ski-out lodging, including luxurious condos and cheaper-style hotel rooms, while over 20 restaurants provide everything from gourmet dining to quick lunches. Also waiting for you is a vibrant nightlife, excellent shopping, a health spa and swimming pools, plus a fitness centre.

At the end of a day’s skiing at Big Sky, you have a choice of over 20 restaurants and numerous bars. You can also unwind in one of several spas, outdoor Jacuzzis and heated swimming pools. There is also a fitness centre, while non-skiing activities include horseback riding, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours, snowshoeing and fly-fishing.

Big Sky is a fully inclusive ski resort providing everything from a diverse range of ski-in/ski-out lodging and dining options, childcare and conference facilities, shopping and groceries, to ski hire and a superb international ski school. Its awesome skiing is only matched by its natural beauty.

A short drive southeast will take you to the splendour of Yellowstone National Park, with its fascinating geothermal wonders and the world famous ‘Old Faithful’ geyser. Twenty-five kilometres north of Bozeman is Bridger Bowl Ski Area, well known for its vast downhill skiing and variety of terrain.

Transportation to Big Sky

Big Sky ski resort is located in southwestern Montana and acts as the western gateway to the world famous Yellowstone National Park. The easiest form of transportation is via air, with Gallatin Field Airport located 75kms to the north, near Bozeman, where express shuttles are waiting to whisk you to the slopes.

If driving from Bozeman and the north, follow highway 191 south where a large sign clearly marks the entry to the resort. Continue on for another 16kms until you reach the resort. Total distance is approximately 75kms. From west Yellowstone and the south, simply follow highway 191 north until you reach the turnoff; total distance is also around 75kms.

Gallatin Field Airport is the seventh busiest passenger airport in the Pacific Northwest and services flights to and from major international gateways, such as Denver International Airport (which offers a direct service to and from London Heathrow) and Los Angeles (LAX). Car hire is available, as are several shuttle services that meet every scheduled flight.
