The resort is suitable for skiers of all ages and levels of experience and is ideal for families, with a fun sleigh-riding area and playground to keep children entertained. There are seven slopes at Yangji ski resort and although they are not particularly long, they are generally well-maintained and smooth. The slopes here are served by a system of six skilifts, including four chairlifts and two J-bar lifts. Yangji Pine Valley offers ski slopes for all levels of ability, but advanced skiers have the advantage of shorter queues and less crowded ski routes as the resort attracts a high number of inexperienced skiers. Snowboarders are also welcome at Yangji ski resort. Accommodation is provided at the ski resort, with rooms available at a slope-side hotel and youth hostel. Facilities at the ski resort include a supermarket, restaurant and snack bar, seminar room, sauna, internet café, karaoke, health centre, observation lounge, swimming pool, various sports facilities, ski rental shop, snow sledding hill, paintball and billiards. There is also a golf course, operational during the summer months, at Yangj ski resort. The city of Seoul is just 40 minutes’ drive away from Yangji and offers an enormous range of cultural, historical and entertainment highlights to choose from. There are also several tourist attractions located even closer to the ski resort, including the Korean Folk Village, Ho-Am Art Gallery and the Everland sledding hills. The ski season at Yangji resort usually runs from early December to early March, but is subject to change depending on weather conditions. A free shuttle bus runs from Seoul to the resort, while a local bus also runs from Seoul Nambu Terminal, with free shuttle buses providing services from Yanji bus terminal. Skiing in YangjiYangji Pine Ski Valley is situated only 47 miles from Seoul, making it a great destination for a weekend getaway. The resort is popular with local Koreans as well as with foreigners arriving from Seoul. It spans an area of 90 acres and offers both day and night skiing on seven diverse trails ranging from gentle novice runs to steep advanced routes.The seven slopes at Yangji offer skiing and entertainment for all ages and abilities, and are served by a system of six skilifts made up of four chairlifts and two J-bar lifts. The ‘Yellow Course’ is an excellent starter run providing a steady slope offering a smooth, low-stress ride for beginners. As at most Korean ski resorts, crowding can be a problem on Yangji’s beginner slopes, but the resort’s advanced runs are usually wide open. Courses are well maintained and though runs can get icy after lapses in snowfall, the resort is equipped with a snow-making system that provides artificial snow when required. In addition to skiing options, there is also plenty of off-slope entertainment at Yangji. The resort encompasses a health centre, various sports courts and games, sauna, swimming pool, internet café and an observation lounge. Après-ski is limited to dinner at the resort’s restaurant, karaoke or drinks at the Rock Café. Visitors wanting to stay overnight at Yangji can choose between rooms at the slope-side hotel or the youth hostel. Additional accommodation is provided just a short distance from Yangji Pine Valley, and visitors on a tight budget should look into this option as outside lodging is significantly cheaper than on-site rooms. Skiing is offered between early December and early March at Yangji Pine Ski Valley, with occasional fluctuations due to uncooperative weather conditions. Options for reaching the resort include self-drive, bus or shuttle bus transportation from Seoul. Transportation to YangjiYangji is located approximately 37 miles from the city of Seoul, close to the Korean Folk Village. Bus and shuttle bus transportation is available to the resort from Seoul, but Yangji’s proximity to Seoul means that self-drive is an easy and convenient alternative to taking public transportation.Road transportation from Seoul to Yangji should take about 50 minutes, but can vary widely depending on traffic and weather conditions, particularly in the winter months. Located 32 miles from Seoul’s city centre, Seoul’s Incheon International Airport is the closest international air hub to the resort and the most likely point of entry for foreign visitors. Also located close to Seoul, Gimpo Airport receives mostly domestic flights, so visitors arriving from other parts of Korea may land here. Buses and taxis provide transportation from both airports to various points across the city. Express buses destined for the ski resort depart from Seoul’s Nambu Bus Terminal, leaving at 20-minute intervals throughout the day, with a journey time of about 1 hour to reach Yangji Pine Ski Valley. Free shuttle buses run to the resort from Yangji Bus Terminal, while free shuttles also run directly from Seoul to Yangji Pine Valley, leaving from Gangnam, Jamsil, Mok-dong, Sadang and Sinchon.
