It is modelled on European ski resorts, giving it a slightly different atmosphere to most Korean ski destinations. There are 10 diverse slopes at Jisan ski resort, including seven main slopes and three subsidiary slopes offering superb rides for all levels of experience ranging from beginner to expert. There is also a high quality snowboard park for extra thrills. Ski runs at Jisan resort are served by four chairlifts. For those wanting a break from the ski slopes, a bowling alley, basketball court and a games room are available for alternative entertainment. In the summer months, visitors to Jisan can play golf on the resort’s 27-hole course or they can get active on the resort’s cycling course and soccer field. Lodging is available at the resort’s 200 slope-side rooms or alternatively visitors can stay in the city and travel to the resort by day. A number of popular Korean attractions are located within close proximity of Jisan including the Everland Resort, Incheon Spa and Incheon Ceramic Village. The city of Seoul, with its magnificent palaces, world-class museums and plentiful entertainment and dining venues, is just an hour’s drive north of the resort. The ski slopes at Jisan ski resort are open from early December to mid-March, depending on the season’s snowfall. The resort is accessible via car or bus from Seoul, with a journey time of between 40 minutes and 1 hour, 30 minutes, depending on the point of departure, traffic and weather conditions. Skiing in JisanJisan resort is located in Gyeonggi-do Province amid a gorgeous forest setting approximately a one-hour drive from Seoul. The ski resort offers a diverse range of runs and skiing suitable for all ages and levels of experience and both skiers and snowboarders are welcome at Jisan resort.Skiing at Jisan is offered on 10 separate slopes, with runs suitable for all abilities ranging from novice to expert available. The slopes are north facing, meaning that snow takes a long time to melt, and separate slopes are provided for ski tuition and snowboarders, helping to maintain the flow on major runs and prevent accidents. There is also an excellent snowboard park complete with half pipe and night skiing is available. Transportation to the pistes is provided by four ski lifts. For non-skiers or those wishing to take a break from the slopes, there is a bowling alley, a games room and a basketball court providing alternative winter entertainment. During the summer months, visitors to the resort can also enjoy cycling, soccer and golf on a 27-hole course. There is limited on-site lodging at Jisan, with about 200 rooms encompassed within the resort. However, there is plenty of accommodation offered outside the skiing area, with Jisan located just a one-hour drive from Seoul, where visitors can choose from an endless range of lodging options. Facilities at the resort include a ski shop, children’s snow park and playground, dressing and first aid rooms and a restaurant. Jisan resort’s ski season runs from early December to mid-March, with fluctuations depending on weather conditions. For optimal ski conditions, visit the resort during February, when snowfall is at its heaviest and the slopes are at their fluffiest. Jisan is accessible via car or bus transportation from Seoul. Transportation to JisanJisan Forest Resort is located in Gyeonggi-do Province, approximately 40 minutes’ drive from southern Seoul and a 1 hour, 30 minute drive from central Seoul. The easiest way of reaching the resort is by hiring a car and driving to Jisan, but for visitors who are reluctant to drive on unfamiliar roads, buses run regularly from Seoul to the resort.To reach Jisan resort by car, travel along Jungbu highway and turn off at the Hobeob I.C., or alternatively, use the national highway and roads No. 3 and 45. The resort is located near Deokpyeong T.G. on the Yeondong highway, roughly 35 miles from Hanam Bridge. Seoul’s Incheon International Airport is located approximately 32 miles southeast of the city centre. Visitors flying in from foreign destinations are likely to land here, while visitors from other parts of the country will probably land at Gimpo Domestic Airport. Taxis, buses and shuttle buses provide transport from the airports to various points across the city. Buses bound for Incheon leave every 20 minutes from Seoul’s Dong Seoul Bus Terminal. From Incheon, take Bus No. 12 and get off at Jisan resort. Alternatively, take City Coach bus No. 9800 from either Gangnam or Yangjae stations.
