There are 30 ski slopes, totalling 50kms of ski runs at the resort, with 60 per cent of runs suitable for the beginner, 25 per cent for intermediate level and 15 per cent for advanced skiers. The longest run at the resort measures seven kilometres, while the village has a top elevation of 2,179m. Twenty-four ski lifts service the area, with a total lift capacity of 32,600 skiers per hour. There is some fantastic cross-country skiing totalling 47kms through pinewood forests. Three schools are on hand with 160 instructors. Due to Folgárida-Marilleva’s location in the Val di Sole, various other resorts may be reached either by bus or lift link, giving access to a total of 340kms of ski runs. Alternatively, fly to Milan, 301kms from the resort, and catch a Skibus transfer service to Folgárida-Marilleva. Apres-ski in Folgarida MarillevaWith around 35 hotels and 15,000 apartment beds, there’s certainly enough accommodation at the resort. Enjoy some nightlife at one of the bars or nightclubs in the area or sample some great cuisine served at any of the dozens of restaurants.Visit the Congress Centre, where you can watch a new movie, take part in organized meetings, see an exhibition or catch one of the many sporting and cultural events. Non-ski activities and facilities on offer include: a fitness centre, ice-skating at the huge ice rink, indoor swimming, sauna facilities and parasailing. There are plenty of non-ski alternatives at the resort, with some attractive aprčs-ski options. There’s some great cuisine on offer at any one of the dozens of restaurants, plus lively entertainment at bars and nightclubs around the resort. Transportation to Folgarida MarillevaFolgarida Marilleva is situated near the provincial town of Trento and is accessible by air and road transfer or rail. The most convenient and practical means of travelling to the resort is by air to the airport at Verona, with a transfer by road to the resort. Alternatively, you can catch an all night train service direct from Paris to Verona after a journey with Eurostar from London. A package deal to the resort will often pre-arrange all travel.Travel by car from Calais involves a journey of 13 hours, 30 minutes through France, Switzerland and Italy, a distance of 1,095kms. Road tolls will cost a total of around €27. If you fly to Milan Airport, take the A22 motorway to Verona-Brennero, on to S Michele-Alto Adige, and then take the N42 to Val di Sole and the resort. The journey should take under three hours from Milan to the resort. By train, catch the Eurostar from London Waterloo or Ashford in Kent to Paris. From here, catch the all-night service to Verona, where you can get a bus service direct to the resort. The journey from Paris to Verona should take just under 11 hours. The journey from London to Paris takes around 2 hours, 30 minutes. By train from Milan Airport, catch the Milan-Trento service and connect with the Trento-Male train before catching a bus service to the resort. The nearest international airports to Folgárida-Marilleva are Verona and Milan. Verona is closest at only 170kms from the resort and offers airport transfer services to the resort during the season. From Milan, travel by Skibus transfer service at weekends, or by train to Trento station; from there, take a train to Male and bus service to the resort. |
