Accommodation is profuse and diverse, including hotels, apartments and camping facilities.In addition to skiing, Altopiano di Asiago offers a range of other outdoor activities, including: horseback riding in the snow, dog-sledding competitions and ice-skating. There are also indoor tennis and swimming facilities and a cinema. A recent development is the Extreme Sports Centre, which provides opportunities for bungee jumping and paragliding. Additionally, the ski resort also offers a rich programme of cultural and artistic events each year. Nightlife is provided by an array of restaurants, cafés, bars and discos. The Altipiano region is brimming with heritage and history, and it is well worth exploring on foot to see the many fortresses dating from the 1800s, as well as the trenches, ruins and memorial gravestones which are the visible signs of the WWI era. The area’s ancient history is particularly well-represented in the village of Bostel in Castelletto di Rotzo, and in Canove, Valle del Bisele, where it is possible to see archaic firestones. The Asiago Observatory of the University of Padua makes for a spectacular night-time excursion. Transportation to Altopiano di AsiagoAltopiano di Asiago 7 Comuni is accessible by road or air transportation. It is also possible to utilise trains, followed by road travel, to complete the journey. The quickest and easiest way to reach the resort is by air, but this is also the costliest option. If you are on a budget, road transportation, or a combination of rail and road transportation are alternative, more affordable options.If you decide to take your own vehicle, travelling from the UK will involve taking a car ferry to reach the European continent. Once in Italy, Altopiano di Asiago can be reached by taking the motorways leading to Venezia-Vicenza-Asiago. Italian trains run from Venice to Vicenza, located 55kms from Altopiano di Asiago. You will need to take buses to travel from Vicenza to Asiago. If you have time limitations, the most advisable form of travel would be air transportation, particularly as Asiago has its own airport. International visitors can fly into the gateway airport of Venice, and catch a connecting flight to Asiago’s local airport from there. Eurolines buses run to Italy from all parts of Europe. Once in the country, Altopiano di Asiago is easily accessible by local Italian buses. |
