Children will not be disappointed at this resort, which boasts a commendable safety record and assortment of activities. The village has a fantastic selection of slopes for all levels with four blue, eight green, six red and four black runs. The ski area sits between 1,400 and 2,350m and delivers high quality snow conditions. There are 14 lifts servicing the resort, which offers a vertical descent of 990m. Thirty-two kilometres of cross-country trails between 1,410 and 1,800m, plus night skiing, make the resort an interesting choice. There are forest trails for the more adventurous, plus some exceptional powder and narrower slopes for snowboarders and the more experienced. Travel by car is along the main autoroute from Paris and on to the A43 motorway to Albertville. From there, take the dual carriageway to Moûtiers, 26kms from Pralognan. Apres-ski in PralognanThe resort of Pralognan has some interesting alternatives to skiing, including dog-sledding and dog-mushing. There are guided ski courses as well as excursions available, plus an array of pastimes including curling, bowling, swimming and ice-skating. There are 15 bars and 20 restaurants in the village, plus a cinema for some light entertainment. Children can take advantage of some of the best tutorship in the area.Pralognan has a number of facilities around the village to accommodate and entertain visitors, including 20 bars and 15 restaurants. There is also a cinema, plus a climbing wall, ice-skating rink, curling rink, swimming pool and bowling alley. Dog-sledding and dog-mushing are also available. Pralognan is located in the Tarentaise Valley, making daytrips to Les Trois Vallées, Val DIsére/Tignes, La Plagne and Les Arcs easy with the ‘Olympic 6’ day pass available from the resort. A special bus service runs daily to Champagny-La Plagne. Transportation to PralognanThe resort of Pralognan can be accessed by various modes of transport and is close to a number of international airports and main autoroutes. The easiest choice for arrival to the resorts is via the Eurostar direct from London Waterloo or Ashford Kent to the nearest station just 26kms from the resort. However, air travel to either Geneva or Lyon international airports is also possible with bus transfers available to the resort.By car, take the main A6 autoroute from Paris down to the Albertville exit and along the A43 motorway. Then take the dual carriageway to Moûtiers before travelling 26kms to the resort of Pralognan. The journey will take around 11 hours from London. Travel by train is relatively easy, with a direct Eurostar service from London Waterloo or Ashford in Kent connecting with the train station at Moûtiers-Salins, 26kms from Prolagnan. A transfer from the station is available with Transavoie buses. TGV and Thalys high-speed trains also service the station from Paris and other parts of Europe. Flying to the area means landing at Geneva (150kms) or Lyon (180kms) international airports, and transferring from there via Airoski bus line (tel: +41227982000) from Geneva or Satobus (tel: +33437255255) from Lyon.
