Single trip to Glasgow - Wining, Dining & Sleeping

If you’ve had along drive to reach destination Glasgow, treat yourself to a night or two in one of the city’s super-cool boutique hotels – you’re guaranteed not to be disappointed.

In the heart of Glasgow’s entertainment district – Langs Hotel is the hippest of hip hotels with a PlayStation and CD player in each of its contemporary rooms. It also boasts an urban spa and a couple of decent bars as well as Las Brisas – a smart restaurant serving delicious food with a Gallic twist.

In a converted Greek church in the middle of the business district, Malmaison is a striking hotel and a funky place to rest your head after that big night out – and it’s just a short walk down hill to reach the majority of the city’s clubs and bars.

It may be Scotland’s second city, but Glasgow plays second fiddle to no one. It’s a dynamic city with a buzzing nightlife so make sure you experience the best of what it has to offer.

Offering posh European food with a Scottish twist, Bouzy Rouge on West Regent Street is a great place to dine – it’s an eccentric restaurant furnished with steel and slabs of wood. But if it’s fabulous fish and seafood you’re after, go to nearby Gamba – an acclaimed restaurant that’s a favourite with Gordon Ramsey, a large budget and booking are essential.

The Dhabba in Merchant City is a relative newcomer but it offers superb authentic North Indian cuisine in stylish surroundings. For an Indian feast on a lower budget The Wee Curry Shop on Buccleuch Street is a tiny BYO café with massive appeal.

The West End of Glasgow has a number of funky pre-club bars, and among the best is Air Organic on Kelvingrove Street with its sci-fi styling and ambient tunes. Firebird, just around the corner, is another great place to start the evening as DJs get the cool crowd warmed up.

Beneath the railway arches under Central Station The Arches is an arts venue, which plays host to decent club nights on Friday and Saturday nights – although check what’s on as the music selection is eclectic to say the least. If it’s a top dance night that you’re after, head for the nearby Sub Club with its cool, young up-for-it crowd.

The Social is one of the newest additions to the Glasgow scene and it has made a big impact. It’s a seriously cool late-night venue brought to the city by the people behind the uber–exclusive Corinthian.
