Visit Belfast with single trip travel insurance from Essential TravelBelfast is a city that has put its well-documented troubles firmly behind it and has a bright and exciting future ahead. It’s a fabulous, vibrant city to spend time in, so what are you waiting for?Single trip to Belfast - Wining, Dining & SleepingThe achingly trendy Ten Square Hotel is the place to stay with minimalist, chic and modern rooms. The hotel’s Bar Red was designed by the people behind London’s uber-cool Met Bar and is equally as smart, and its members’ only China club is a very exclusive place to have a tipple. The Art Deco style Porcelain restaurant offers a delicious European-Asian dining experience and is worth eating at even if you’re not staying at the hotel. If you really want to treat yourself and are happy to drive in and out of town the Culloden Hotel is truly stunning – a magnificent 17th century building One of the best things about drinking in Belfast is that it’s practically a chain-free city, so you can forget streets crammed with the same old pubs and instead have a unique night out at one of its many individual bars, clubs and restaurants. For a taste of the Orient dine at Opium in the Cathedral Quarter of Belfast – with its Asian fusion menu and decadent red décor, it offers a unique dining experience. The cocktail selection at the bar is worth a mention, too. Apartment is a seriously trendy late-night bar on Donegall Square West with great cocktails and cool DJs (including the girl from Faking It) and a fab view over the city center. For some sophisticated, atmospheric music head to nearby Bar Bacca – a chilled out bar with a south-east Asian feel to it, and if you fancy a boogie head upstairs to the elegant club La Lea – but make sure you’re dressed up as the door policy is pretty strict. Ta Tu (no not the controversial Russians…) on the trendy Lisburn Road is another welcome addition to the Belfast bar and restaurant scene – it’s a happening place with an eclectic menu that oozes style and decadence. Just along the road Shu restaurant is also worth a visit, and after dining on the fine contemporary cuisine, head downstairs to enjoy soul, funk and Latin beats while sipping on cocktails at the Simply Shu bar. If you want to go clubbing, head to Milk on Tomb Street – it’s one of the coolest nightclubs in the city. The venue is a converted warehouse and has a gritty industrial feel about it, and different nights cater to different tastes – it’s not for the fainthearted. The Fly Bar is another decent venue with an up-for-it designer clad crowd. No trip to Belfast is complete without a visit to the Botanic Inn (known as The Bot) – a great Irish pub full of great Irish men! A good place to eat Sunday lunch and sup on a pint of Guinness while nursing that hangover.
