Sand yachting is the best way to enjoy and admire miles of flat sandy beaches during your vacation in your dream beach destination. Your can enjoy this activity with friends or the whole family - coasting along a sandy seashore, the wind in your ear, and listening to the crashing of the waves nearby. Although sand yachting or sailing poses is a much better alternative for those who are afraid of the water or of the deep sea, it is not without risks. In some places and beaches, in fact, sand yachting is not allowed because it is potentially fatal. Make sure you have travel insurance when planning to go on a sand yachting adventure.
The speed and the size of the sand yacht is the main reason why sand yachting is very hazardous (and potentially deadly). Sand yachts can achieve speeds that exceed water-based yachts - their only limiting factor being friction and drag. Collisions with objects, people, and other hazards can be deadly, or at least very serious. You may also fall off the vehicle and incur bruises, broken bones, and even head and spinal injuries. These injuries may require immediate medication, evacuation, surgery, and even rehabilitation, all of which can be very expensive if you are not covered by sports travel insurance.
Sand yachting is considered a Grade 3 risk sport, which means that you have a high risk of hurting yourself or other people when engaging in it. You should definitely get travel insurance when planning to go sand yachting.
