Parasailing over land is a popular competition sport in Northern Europe. In land based parasailing, your speed and height are controlled by the truck, while you control the parasail sideways. The inherent danger in parasailing is colliding with high objects (such as trees and power lines) or crashing down the ground in instances of line separation, equipment failure, high speed landings, and line popping. There is also a chance that the canopy may rotate and get entangled inside the parachute.
