Paintballing is a one-of-a-kind activity that you can enjoy with friends while on vacation, or even by yourself-it's a good way to meet other people when you're in a new place. Best of all, it can be enjoyed noth indoors or outdoors. Although paintballing is one of the safest sports around, it is still wise to secure sports travel insurance with you when engaging in this activity, especially when playing far away from home.
There are various forms of paintballing, of which the most popular are scenario, speedball, and tourneyball. There are also different rules depending in the type of game and the area where you are playing, all of which are formulated to make the paintballing environment fun and safe. Even then however, paintballing is not without risks. The journal 'Injury Prevention' reports that there is an increase in severe eye damage caused by paintballing. These injuries can range from minor injuries like black eye to major injuries such ascorneal abrasions and cuts, hemorrhaging of the vitreous (which contains the eyeball fluid, retinal detachment, and glaucoma) or increased pressure in the eye. The most common types of eye injuries is bleeding and swelling.
Paintballing is considered a Grade 1 risk sport, with a low chance for injury. Still, it is recommended that you secure sports travel insurance to ensure that you will get immediate medical attention should you incur any injuries while playing.
