Paris is easily accessible for British holidaymakers

Tourism initiative promotes Paris

28 November 2008

A new advertising campaign has been launched by the French Government Tourist Office to promote the Paris Ile-de-France region to holidaymakers.

The initiative, which features the slogan ''you''ve never been so close'' and describes the region as ''the new Paris Ile-de-France'', got underway this week in London and 12 other European cities.

According to the French Government Tourist Office, Paris Ile-de-France is a destination that is "brimming with energy and cultural riches".

The adverts have been designed to showcase the experiences and events on offer to people holidaying in Paris and also underline how easily accessible the city is from the UK.

Paris is famous for its art museums and galleries – a fact that will be represented in the promotion by the involvement of artists such as the photographer David Stewart.

The campaign will also feature work by Patrick Blanc, an artist known for working with natural materials whose plant wall creation is currently on exhibit at the Quai Branly museum in Paris.
