Art exhibition in Krakow

09 October 2008

Tourists who are keen to go on holiday to Krakow may be interested in a new art presentation featuring the works of Shinji Ogawa.

The Perverse Realism exhibition aims to offer art lovers the chance to see representative places from across Europe at a different angle.

Open at the Bunker of Art until November 23rd 2008, the exhibition is the first individual retrospective of Shinji Ogawa''s creative work.

"The canonical canvas of European painting, old postcards, photographs and Japanese wood engravings were the starting point for works of the Japanese artist," the Magiczny Krakow site proclaims.

"They are, however, neither painting collages, nor computer-processed photographs, but elaborate handicrafts."

The website adds that these paintings, photographs and drawings can startle the audience with the revelation of the artists'' imagination and the exhibition is ideal for those who enjoy thought provoking art.

Other art events taking place in the city this winter include the Picture-maker/Picture-taker exhibition from Warsaw-born Waclaw Nowak.
