Stag dos are going to Las Vegas

Stag dos want more exotic locations

03 September 2008

According to a travel organiser, stag dos and hen parties are looking to escape the traditional UK destinations.

With the Halifax reporting that 8.7 million Brits took a single sex holiday in 2007, Release Travel claim that stag groups are looking to travel to more unique and memorable locations in an attempt to better the last celebration.

Ben Rodger, marketing manager of releasetravel.co.uk, said: "Groups are looking to explore newer more exotic destinations and escape their current financial worries."

Mr Rodger found that stag groups are more likely to go to America in order to get different experiences and take advantage of the currency exchange rate.

"We have seen an increase in stag groups travelling to Las Vegas and hen groups wishing to travel to New York," he added.

A Morgan Stanley survey from 2004 estimated that the average stag weekend cost £365 and that men spent £112 on food and drink compared to £62 for women.
