Many Brits aspire to visit the Grand Canyon
Grand Canyon tops Brits'' ''bucket list''
16 July 2008A new survey by Warner Home Video has found that the Grand Canyon is the destination that British people most want to visit before ''kicking the bucket''.
More than 1,500 people were surveyed in a poll carried out to coincide with the release of The Bucket List, a Warner Bros movie that sees Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman indulge in some once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
America''s Grand Canyon is reportedly the place most Brits want to see before they die, followed by the Pyramids, the Great Barrier Reef, Niagara Falls and the Canadian Rockies.
The Great Wall of China was sixth in the list, followed by the cities of New York, Sydney, Rome and Venice.
Gender appears to be a factor in Britons'' travel aspirations, with the women surveyed showing more of an interest in trips to major cities and men leaning towards exotic locations such as the Taj Mahal in India and Machu Picchu in Peru.
When asked about their more general life ambitions, survey participants'' responses included swimming with dolphins, learning a new language, writing a novel and doing a skydive.
