Vegas 'to boast Elvis-themed casino'
04 April 2008Lovers of American culture in its many forms could have a new attraction to pique their interest in Las Vegas in the future - an Elvis Presley-themed casino.
The company that currently owns the rights to the name and image of the famous rocker has launched plans to base a casino dedicated to him on the Las Vegas Strip, the Associated Press reports.
According to FX Real Estate and Entertainment, the 18-acre site could be based opposite the CityCenter development.
It is not expected to come cheap, however, with a preliminary budget of $3.1 billion (£1.55 billion) having been proposed. Construction is set to begin in the first quarter of 2009.
The complex could boast a number of features, including chapels, bridal shops, reception venues and banquet areas to tap into the market for Elvis-themed weddings.
Fans of the legendary rock 'n' roll star may also be able to take part in an interactive multimedia Elvis experience, visit a boutique and browse in a memorabilia store.
