Jet Skiing

Jet skiing should be in your itinerary if you are planning a vacation in beach areas. This sport activity can give you and your friends or family hours of fun and can also satisfy your need for speed, but it is not without its dangers. That is why it's a good idea to always secure sports travel insurance.

The simplest jet skiing injuries are already painful - the saltwater and the wind can irritate your eyes. In some cases, your eyes may dry out and temporarily impair your vision. If you are jet skiing in crowded areas, you risk crashing with other jet skiers and incurring serious injuries such as broken bones, head trauma, deep gashes, and concussions, to name a few. You will probably need ambulatory services, hospitalization, and sometimes even surgery if you incur these jet skiing injuries - procedures that can be very expensive, especially if you are in a country where medical care is costly.

Jet skiing is a Grade 1 risk sport, which is why some local laws regulate the use of jet skis. Stay away from crowded beaches to avoid collisions with other jet skiers or worse, swimmers. To protect yourself, always wear a helmet and a flotation device (some beaches do not let you jet ski without such protective equipment). Also see to it that you have sports travel insurance so you never have to worry about medical bills in case you incur an accident.
