Horse riding (Grade 2)

There are a lot of available hose riding vacation packages - some offer lessons for novices and some are exclusive horseback rides for riders with a lot more experience. But whether you are already a professional rider or just a beginner, you put yourself at risk every time you ride a horse. The environment, the weather, human error, or the animal's temperament can all make horse riding dangerous. If you are riding in a different country where you do not have medical coverage, the danger doubles. That is why getting travel insurance is a good idea - it can protect you from financial burdens should you incur an accident.

Most horse riding injuries (like bruises, sprains, and strains) result from falling off the horse. These injuries affect your skin, tendons, ligaments, and muscles. The horse may also kick you, resulting in more serious injuries such as dislocations, fractures, and concussions, all of which pose an even bigger risk. They may hurt your spinal region and the head, leading up to seizures or paralysis. These conditions can disable you enough to require hospitalization, which can be very expensive. If you have travel insurance, you will not have to worry about money - even if you require rescue from a remote location, you will be covered.

Horse riding is considered a grade 2 risk sport. With the possible risks involved, it is best to get travel insurance.
