Whether you want to be impressed by its beautiful coastline, rural mountain villages or its soaring peaks, there is something here for you. You will find that Vietnam offers its visitors a wonderful opportunity to experience two sides exciting sides of South East Asia. On the one hand, you can explore the Vietnam of bustling, historic towns, steeped history with colonial buildings, lively markets, and beautiful pagodas. On the other hand, is the tranquil, unspoilt Vietnam of amazing natural beauty, a country where deserted sandy beaches line the coast and the skylines is dominated by towering, jungle covered mountains. After many years of adversity, Vietnam has never been more accessible and is now rapidly gaining popularity as a holiday destination for travellers of all kinds. Whilst wonderfully proud and protective of their independence the Vietnamese have a fine reputation for being welcoming to international travellers and extending every hospitality to guests to their country. There is so much to explore in Vietnam it can be difficult to know where to start! Many travellers choose to being their holiday in Hanoi – the nation’s capital and one of the most captivating cities in South East Asia. In Hanoi you will find no shortage of diversions including a fabulous Old Quarter which is home to a gothic cathedral, winding streets, and many restaurants serving excellent local cuisine. One particular local speciality is the “Nuoc mams”, which is complimented perfectly by strong coffee Vietnamese style! Vietnam enjoys a mixed climate with the southern provinces experiencing tropical weather and the northern areas having the cooler temperatures. However, whether you’re in the north or the south, whether it is winter or summer, don’t forget to take your waterproof jacket. Vietnam has mild humid winters and relatively hot wet summers, with the odd typhoon to spice things up. If you’re truly wet-weather phobic you may wish to avoid monsoon season, which is April to October. Indochina Travel Services ' ' |
