Getting there
The international airports at Hector, Minot and Sloulin have daily services to Bismarck and other regional airports, as well as connections to major airline hubs in Minneapolis, Denver and Chicago. Amtrak’s Empire Builder provides rail transportation from Chicago to Seattle through Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Washington and Oregon. By car, the principal interstate highways are I-94, which runs east-west through Fargo Bismarck and Dickinson, and I-29, which runs north-south through Grand Forks and Fargo. The state highway and road system connects these to the rest of the state.
