Getting there
Delaware is situated near the state of Maryland and the city of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, with easy access to Baltimore-Washington International Airport or Philadelphia International Airport. Alternatively, New Castle County Airport receives a few commercial flights if you want to fly directly to the state. By road, I-95 passes through Delaware via Wilmington. Additionally, US routes 113 and 13 connect to I-83 heading north, and I-70 and I-68 which go on to Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio and beyond. US40 runs from Wilmington to Baltimore, Maryland.
Safety
Although Delaware is probably one of the safer states in terms of crime, travellers in an unfamiliar environment can still have accidents or problems with travel arrangements. Additionally, driving on snowy or icy roads in winter can be tricky, with car accidents being a leading cause of death in the US. It is advisable to take out travel insurance for you and your family when visiting Delaware.
