The Blue Lagoon, part of which is in a national park, offers calm, crystal clear, turquoise waters and is ideal for a variety of water sports. It is also a safe place for children to swim. Belcekiz beach is a bit more upscale and offers a fine selection of bars and restaurants.

Oludeniz is also a prime area for paragliding. Inexperienced participants can choose from an array of companies, including the Turkish Aeronautical Association. From the sky, you can get a stunning view of Oludeniz and take lots of photographs from 1,400 to 1,700m.

Out and about in Oludeniz

The stunning Butterfly Valley is an unspoilt beachfront area named for rare tiger butterflies who are drawn to the smell of mint, jasmine, laurel, eucalyptus and thyme, rising from the rich vegetation. Another paradise for nature lover, Saklikent Gorge (also known as the Canyon of the Hidden Valley), is an amazing natural wonder carved 480m down into the canyon by the constant force of the waters flowing down from Akdag (Ak Mountain).

Daily boat excursions are a relaxing way to pass the time. Most of Oludeniz’s bars are lined up along the promenade and overlooking the beach, contributing to the beach bar culture with a relaxed attitude and informal but stylish air. Although the club scene in Oludeniz is fairly small, the number of clubs is steadily growing.
