Info on Antalyas Key attractions

Antalya is a paradise for adventure-seekers. Here, visitors can ski, swim, explore underwater caves, go rafting through wide canyons, or relax on a secluded beach. There are also a number of amazing archaeological wonders. Artefacts 50,000 years old were discovered in the Karain Cave, the oldest human habitation in Anatolia. The Antalya Museum, boasting more than 5,000 archaeological pieces displayed in 14 exhibit halls, is one of the most important attractions. The city walls include the impressive Hadrian Arch and Clock Tower dating back to the Hellenistic era. Antalyas historical quarter has been restored, changing it from a decrepit fishing village to a cosmopolitan town where you can still see traces of Byzantine, Roman and Seljuk architecture.

Out and about in Antalya

the landscape surrounding Antalya is filled with lovely deep canyons, gushing waterfalls and archaeological sites. An hour east of Antalya is Manavgat town, the perfect relaxing hideaway, nestled above Manavgat River. A key city of ancient Pamphyliais Perge, 18kms east from Antalya along the coast, and features the remains of a theatre and city gate. Farther east, Aspendos houses another centuries-old theatre, still used today.

Leisure OPtions

Kaleici is where you’ll find a variety of hotels, restaurants, shops and entertainment. There are plenty of leisure options in Antalya, such as swimming, skiing, water-skiing, windsurfing, horseback riding, yacht cruises and rafting. Cycling in the Taurus Mountains is also popular, as are overnight walking tours through the Antalya region and Lake District.

Safety

when travelling to an unfamiliar environment, remain alert for potential hazards. Holidaymakers are more susceptible to pickpocketing, theft or loss of personal effects. Outdoor activities and driving can place you at greater risk of having an accident. Language barriers and strange routines can also result in missed travel arrangements or problematic bookings. We strongly recommend you take out travel insurance for you and your family when visiting Antalya.

Weather In Antalya

Antalya is fairly cold in between the months of November - February reaching a high of 18C, June, July and August reach up to 34C with very little rain in the summer months. ' '
