Safety in Italy

Crowded tourist centres attract plenty of pickpockets and bag snatchers, so you need to be on your guard. Many car rental companies will not allow you to drive their vehicles to Italy, with good reason – car theft is common in larger cities. Travelling in unfamiliar areas can place you at greater risk of accidents as well. To feel extra safe, make sure that you take out travel insurance before you head to Italy.
