Getting There
Bluegrass Airport in Lexington and Louisville International Airport receive flights from most domestic airlines, while travellers from overseas will be routed through Atlanta or New York City on the way here. By rail, Amtrak serves Kentucky from the east coast via Lexington and Louisville.
This gorgeous state is best explored by car. I-75 enters Kentucky from the north via Cincinnati (Ohio), passes through Lexington and goes on south to Knoxville (Tennessee). I-64 enters the state from the west from St Louis (Missouri), goes through Louisville and Lexington and on to Charleston (West Virginia). I-65 comes in from the north and goes through Louisville and on to Nashville (Tennessee); while I-71 comes from Cincinnati into Louisville.
Safety
Driving through the US can be a delightful experience as the roads are fairly well maintained and there are frequent rest areas along the interstates.
