Getting There

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport serves over a hundred cities in the US and around the world. Tucson International Airport offers daily connections to major US cities in the west. Amtrak provides rail passenger service through Phoenix and Tucson with several trains a week on lines heading east and west. Greyhound buses serve destinations in Arizona and throughout the southwest and the rest of the US.

Although the drive through the southwest can be desolate at times, it is still a good way to see the state. Interstate highways I-40 and I-10 run east to west through Arizona. Highway 160 is the major north south thoroughfare connecting Flagstaff, Phoenix and Tucson.

Safety

Travellers should be careful when driving long distances through the desert and make sure they have a full tank and bring along water in case of a breakdown. Although there are rest stops along major interstates, they may be less frequent in desert areas.
